Enclosed in the letter was a small silver amulet with the Queen's signet.

The Letter
Loyal Friend,

I trust you found the equipment I intended for your use in the bureau. They shall aid you on your next journey. The King and Commander, Brax, has decided that the time has come for your mission to begin. In three days you are to meet on the shore of Sennter and travel together to the city of Cescen. There you shall meet with a woman and child. The woman's name is Kalixo and she will relinquish the child to you. You shall take the child by any route you deem safe and fit to the Cherren Monastary in the southern mountains of Feren 'Khat. Your mission shall be the protection and safe delivery of the child. You must not be seen, recognized or worse, captured by the Empire's forces. The child you shall be guarding is my daughter, Princess Avestralinn, the future Queen and Mother of our homeland. She is in very real danger indeed. You are our country's last hope and my heart is riding upon your success. Enclosed is a token of my appreciation. Use all your might, knowledge, talents, and courage to deliver my daughter safely. May Evellna bring you success.

Your Servant and Mother
Her Majesty,

Tony:

Fletch is a ghost human rogue played by Tony. His identity as a ghost was kept hidden from the party by being completely covered in clothes.

Backstory
Life and Death
Fletch (née Gar Renett) grew up in Nostob of the Noraandeeve Kingdom. His father worked cleaning trade ships and his mother was a fairly reputable herbalist. For most of his young adult life, Gar lived at home and helped his mother garden and run the apothecary. He was the oldest of four children, so he often served as the second father. With such an uneventful life handed to him, Gar grew restless and left home at age 16.

Gar traveled abroad, searching for a purpose. With little success, he attempted to harvest and sell herbs to street merchants. Although he found plenty of rarities, the demand for herbs was not as high as it was in the port city of Nostob. He found himself dealing in less reputable goods…his desperation for gold turned him to the black market. He grew a little paranoid about getting caught or getting mixed up in something he would regret, so he turned to people he felt he could trust.

Gar was hired by a thieve’s guild, Johdon, in Deevlain. For initiation into Johdon, Gar had to leave his name and past behind him. Although seemingly a big commitment, Gar had nothing to lose and no better prospect. His first mission was to steal a gold dagger from the hilt of a general. Unfortunately, Gar’s skills failed him, and he was immediately detected. He did not resist, nor did he give away Johdon. He was sent to prison and waited there, silently, for two months. The guild was so impressed with his loyalty, they sent another member to pick the lock to his cell and help him escape. A guild officer approached him and questioned his unsolicited loyalty. Gar merely shrugged and handed over a golden arrow. He explained how he spent the two months practicing sleight of hand and nabbed the arrow from the quiver of a passing soldier. The officer laughed, handed back the arrow, and rechristened Gar as Flèche Volée, or Stolen Arrow. The other thieves called him Fletch for short.

Fletch spent a total of 10 years in Johdon. He learned the essential qualities every thief should have, such as picking locks, breaking in through windows, hiding in shadows, and sporting a forgettable face. He picked up a few more nicknames and aliases, such as Nob, Phan, and Tir. As a new thief, Fletch was often tricked into doing others’ bidding. He was tossed around as a puppet and manipulated so much that he lost interest in the guild and became a total independent. People just didn’t interest him anymore.

Fletch became deeply engrossed in studying archery. He learned to craft his own arrows and bows, and sold them to a merchant for a living. In his downtime, he worked on his aim and accuracy endlessly, almost to the point of obsession,. He spent a year and a half training, with limited or incidental human interaction. His craftsmanship was noticed by a wizard elf named Iaa. Someone who could engineer such efficient arrows must have great ability with a bow. Iaa asks the merchant when Fletch will come in with his next supply and personally seeks him out. He tells Fletch that he placed a bounty on a city general, and that only an archer would get it done quickly and quietly. After a day of consideration, Fletch decided it was time to interact with humans again and agreed to the job. He successfully shot the general with one arrow, hidden on a rooftop and no chance of detection. Iaa was impressed with his work and offered him a few more jobs. Fletch developed an affinity for murder.

Life as a bounty hunter came naturally to Fletch. He traveled to another city if he got to know too many people, although that was seldom a problem. In human cities, finding employers was never a problem. He mastered small assassinations and tried taking on a bigger job. He earned a good reputation with Iaa over the years, so he asked Iaa to give him a real challenge.

He sent Fletch to accomplish a seemingly simple task, but with great warning: steal a velvet bag with sparkly rope ties from someone named Verin Lauraen and bring it immediately to Iaa. Fletch was promised 40,000 gold with half of it paid upfront for supplies. Iaa warned that Verin Lauraen and the chest would be difficult to locate, that others would be after the bag and would not think twice about killing those who get in their way, that once Fletch has the bag many others would be after him to steal the bag, and most importantly, that the bag itself may cause danger.

Fletch managed to track down Verin Lauraen and stuck around. After some investigation, he managed to locate the chest. After a carefully planned robbery, with no likely mistakes, Fletch was murdered on site. He was 36 years old.

Life as a Ghost
Fletch re-entered the material world in Nostob. Being newly undead, he did not yet discover how to form any cohesive shape. He was more like an invisible cold mist that could occasionally interact with objects. He immediately felt an aversion to his hometown. Nothing was holding him here, and his family was moving along at their normal, slow pace. He enjoyed spying on people, hiding in the shadows, and the absolute isolation from people. His joys were not enough to quell the constant gravitation toward this unexplained force. It drove him mad, but he couldn’t detect why he felt uneasy. Once he got bored with Nostob, he began to wander. He found that certain towns would put him more at ease than others. It wasn’t until he traveled to 10 or so towns that he noticed a pattern. His uneasiness was directionally related, although the direction was too difficult to discern from small changes in distance.

Fletch developed a better manifestation ability. He first learned to form arms and a mouth. He became very distracted from his feelings and focused on his physicality. Eventually, he could form to a basic human shape, but he was still invisible. Physically, he was a solid being (when he chose to be). Fletch really wanted his bow back. He did not recall where his body was nor what he was doing in the last few months of his life, probably a curse or side-effect of being a ghost. He easily crafted a new bow that would suffice for the time.

Tony:

The dragon orb was a very important item in the Evil Campaign because it had a rich history and crossed paths with many characters and NPC's. It remained in Férius' posession through most of the campaign and its identity was revealed only at the very end whereupon it was fought over by Férius, Fletch, and Norson. Ultimately, Fletch returned it to the Dragon and was finally able to move on.

Pre-Game History
It was revealed in-game that the dragon orb was first created and used by an ancestoral group of people known as The Ancients. It could control a platinum dragon.

The orb was passed down for generation after generation until it fell into the Lauraen bloodline. Verin Lauraen, an elf of important status, had possession of the orb and would wear it at important events of her people. It was during these events that Gwerion--then known as Iaa--saw the orb and desired it for himself.

Gwerion desired the orb so much that he paid a bounty hunter Fletch to steal it from Verin Lauraen and bring it to him. Fletch was killed while attempting to steal the pouch containing the orb (and thus concealing from him the identity of the item within) and returned as a ghost to complete his job. The orb continued to pass through the Lauraen bloodline to Sylvacae.

Sylvacae had the orb in her possession for several years and parted with it only after being forced from the elven kingdom, whereupon she gave it to Férius and told him to keep it safe.

In-Game History
The orb was secretely carried by Férius throughout most of the campaign. The entirety of Fletch's afterlife was centered around his attraction to it. Never knowing what was drawing him in, Fletch felt less uneasy around Férius, who kept it hidden from the rest of the party and sought to discover its secrets without anyone else knowing. Despite his many efforts, the orb would serve as little more than a trinket. He was able to uncover few facts about its history: that it was a "family heirloom" in Sylvacae's family, that Gwerion believed it could control the dragon, and that it was an item of great importance.

Upon realizing that the necklace he carried was a dragon orb, Férius immediately sought to find and control the dragon. The party ventured into Valgalen Forest and discovered a temple where the ancients were laid to rest. Férius, Fletch, and Norson quickly discovered that the temple was also the location of the dragon. When the dragon appeared, Férius attempted to use the dragon orb to control it, but nothing happened. Fletch saw it and fought desperately with Férius to take possession of it, for it was the item that would settle his unrest. It passed hands many times before Norson entered and tried taking it for himself. Knowing that Gwerion had ties to it, Norson sought to destroy it. Eventually, Norson escaped with the dragon orb and Férius disappeared as well. Fletch managed to escape the dragon with the rest of the party.

Norson then encountered Gwerion, decimating his house and murdering him. The party travelled to Norson's house, where, having no more use of the orb, he handed it over to Fletch. Fletch brought the dragon orb back to the ruins of Gwerion's house. The dragon appeared, asked for the orb's return and placed Fletch's spirit to rest.

He kept it hidden from the rest of the party and sought to discover its secrets without anyone else knowing.

Tony:

Pelemor Coppercob (Lem) is a half-doppelganger mimic played by Tony. At the start of the campaign, Lem is 15 years old. He moved from Kalar to Zelantar at the age of 12 after completing his formal education in order to escape the rule of Sa'Enkad. He is very loyal to Zelantar because they oppose the expansion of the believed-to-be evil Sa'Enkad Empire.

Backstory
For more information on his back story, refer to the letter below:
* Lem's Letter to the Queen

Events in Campaign
Half-Doppleganger
Although Lem is half-doppleganger, he didn't discover it until he was 11 years old. For the first part of his life, he thought he was a human and thus instinctually shapeshifted into his believed natural form. His school teacher, Darius Hillmer, taught him to meditate to uncover his natural form: a shrewd mixture of human, elf, gnome, halfling, dwarf, and orc with pale pink skin and gray hair. He spends most of the time in the shape of humanoids he encounters, but sometimes resorts to his old human projection. He hardly ever shapeshifts to his natural form, for it brings feelings of nakedness and vulnerability. Lem hates all reflections of himself, no matter what form he is in.

Change Shape (Su): A half-doppelganger can assume the shape of any humanoid between 4 and 8 feet tall. It can remain in its humanoid form until it chooses to assume a new one. A change in form cannot be dispelled, but it reverts to its natural form when killed. A true seeing spell or ability reveals it natural form.

Mimic (Ex): A half-doppelganger has the ability to mimic any language, racial ability, class ability or spell that it perceives. The half-doppelganger can mirror the ability as it is being performed as long as he can see or hear the performer (depending on how the ability is executed) and as long as the target is exactly the same. Otherwise, the half-doppelganger must spend one standard action studying the ability. To use the Mimic Ability, you must roll higher than a DC of 10 or as determined by the DM. The duration of knowing a mimicked ability is 1d6 rounds. The ability may then be used on any target without the need of the original performer as long as the mimic check succeeds again. Abilities are permanently learned after successfully using them 10 times. Spells of any kind can be targeted elsewhere, but they must be used in the round following the original casting and cannot be learned.

Skills: A half-doppelganger has a +4 racial bonus on Bluff and Disguise checks. When using its change shape ability, it gets an additional +10 circumstance bonus on Disguise checks.

Ability Points and Modifiers
A half-doppleganger's base ability points are 10 for all six abilities. This makes it average in everything it does without mimicking. Abilities are then temporarily and randomly improved or worsened on each check by the roll of the dice, but the permanent abilities are always considered to be 10 so as not to instantly die by rolling poorly. The calculation for ability points is 10 (+ d20/2 if d% > 50 or – d20/2 if d% < 50). The ability modifier is then looked up in Table 1-1 in PHB or calculated by (Ability points – 10)/2 rounded down.

Mimic Class
Instead of using Gestalt rules to have two classes, Lem is more of a mixture of all classes. Along with the benefits of being able to mimic any verbal or semantic ability, there comes the curse of only being able to perform something that is currently being performed. Additionally, the class has completely randomized stats that are rolled as needed.

The following tables summarize the growth of each stat as compared to the core D&D classes. This class is balanced by having its possible maximum and minimum bonuses equal to those of the other classes.

Base Attack Progression
In addition to rolling a d20 to hit an enemy, the base attack bonus is determined by rolling with every strike. For the most part, the mimic's base attack bonus falls within the range of the base attack for the other classes.
Skill Ranks Progression
To perform a skill, a d20 must be rolled and the ranks and ability modifiers added. The ranks in that skill are random with every roll, spanning from some low value to the maximum value for normal players (level + 3). Normally, the amount of trained skills is limited by having a specific amount of skill points. It seems unbalanced that the mimic should be able to have ranks in every skill check, but two things balance this out:
#The mimic cannot perform a skill that isn't currently being performed.
#The ability modifier is also randomly rolled, which has a 50% chance of being negative. See Ability Modifiers.

Delgo is a dwarven evoker/earth dreamer played by Tony.

Backstory
Delgo hails from the Bolcrag clan, a small family of dwarves residing in the _____ Mountains known for experimenting with Magic and having a powerful connection with the Earth.

The Bolcrag clan originally descended from the Grubwort clan. During the Change, demons harrassed the Grubwort clan, attacking them relentlessly and eventually convincing cowardly dwarves to join their side. Unfortunately, the leader of the Grubwort clan also fell victim to the demons’ power. As physical strength could no longer fight off the demons, a select few dwarves turned to magic for defense. Being unnaturally clumsy with spells and sorcery, the first dwarven wizards summoned spells from magical gems they had mined. As expected, the other members of the Grubwort clan were ashamed of these dwarves and thus exiled them.

The leader of the exiled, Bolcrag Grubwort (now just “Bolcrag”), was the most knowledgeable of these magical gems. She was born with a love of the Earth and was most fascinated by Magic. During their time with the Grubwort clan, she was the Head Excavator and therefore knew where all of the ore bodies existed. She led the other “good” dwarves to the ideal cavern in the _______ Mountains so as to have access to the different Magical gems. This dwelling is where the Bolcrag clan resides today. Since then, the Magical properties of the Earth have become a part of the clan. Most dwarves in the Bolcrag clan have an affinity for Magic and the Earth, so most dwarves are adept Wizards and Earthdreamers.

As the Bolcrag dwarves soon found out, being infused with Magic has its drawbacks. Dwarves who exhibit extreme powers at a young age fall ill and often die before reaching adulthood. This illness has been given the name “The Coolies” after the symptom of unusual fevers that chill, instead of heat, the body. Female dwarves appear to be the only

We return to our hero, Delgo, seemingly an ordinary Bolcrag dwarf. Delgo’s younger sister Frap seems to have come down with The Coolies. She is the 7th dwarf ever known to have contracted it; the first being Bolcrag herself.
Earthdreamer
The Earthdreamer character class can be found in the Races of Stone book. After some experimentation with magic (being a devoted evoker wizard) Delgo uncovered his powers from and connections with the Earth. He gained the ability to speak with stone, identify any being touching the ground, and travel through stone.
