The orb was passed down from generation to generation until it fell into the Lauraen bloodline. Verin Lauraen, an elf of important status, had possession of the orb and would wear it to important events of ~~her~~ people. It was during these events that [[Gwerion]]--then known as Iaa--saw the orb and desired it for himself.

[[Gwerion]] desired the orb so much that he paid a bounty hunter named [[Fletch]] to steal it from Verin Lauraen and bring it to him. [[Fletch]] was killed while attempting to steal the pouch containing the orb (thus concealing from him the identity of the item within) and returned as a ghost to complete his job. The orb continued to pass through the Lauraen bloodline to [[Sylvacae]].
