Matawan is an elf who lives deep in the swamp of Red Country #7. He was Beryl's mentor and was still living there, despite his people having disappeared. He has been guarding one of the artifacts used to seal the demon during the change (a small dagger), which he gave to Trivel and his comrades as they sought to destroy all the artifacts and stop the forces of Sa'Enkad from invading Zelantar.
